It's so oddly cool it deserved to be seen by everyone.
I completely adore this car, and wish to own one some day.

Check it out, if you look close, you can actually see the dollar bills leaking out of the air suspension!

If we ask nicely, do you think Jagvar will join? I call dibs on the V10 TDI.

Okay, I don't get it. I love to overtax a car (see my post about towing a 4500lb camper with my Ford Escape), but this just doesn't make sense. These cars aren't hoopties; they look to be in good condition and relatively new. Why are they being abused like this? Is this 'a thing', or is it just some random clips? These don't seem to be a common enough car to be owned by that many rednecks.

I think he'd be all in. I want the W12.

I have no idea about it. But, it seems most of the off-road shots are in Europe, in which Phaetons are much more common. The one I'm startled is the grey one in the desert.

It probably isn't more expensive to run a Phaeton than a Range Rover, unless it's damaged by low ground clearance.

Why?
ALso, it's funny to me how much the Phaeton just looks like a big Volkswagen now.

These would not be an unusual caravan holiday car in the UK where most of the photos are from (based on the number plates), oddly caravan holidays are not very common with red necks in the UK. Living in a caravan is something else though. I assume people in the USA take a real RV and there is not such thing as a caravan.

It just IS a big Volkswagen! But I love it.

Oh no, caravans are extremely popular here. We just call them by other names. If they're bumper-pull, they're called 'travel trailers' or 'campers' (this one is almost idential to mine, except my stripes are blue):
Oddly, there are also recreational vehicles that slide into the bed of a pickup that are also called 'campers':
And if they use a kingpin hitch in the bed of a truck, they're called a '5th wheel':
The big difference is that the tow capacity laws are very different here. Cars have low maximums that result in pop-up tent campers being the largest that can be towed by most cars and CUVs. This has also lead to popup campers becoming extremely large:
Because of that, if you're going to tow a hard-shell camper, you have to purchase a truck or large SUV. Lots of people do that, but as long as they're going to all that trouble, they usually just go all the way and buy a 5th wheel, which has lead to them becoming the most popular recreational vehicle on the roads.

Not off road, but I did this a few weeks ago as a baseline before modifications.
